SAKURAN - さくらん : A SAD COLOR

Yesterday, after watching this clip, I knew that i had to watch this movie because it totally captured my interest and emotion. The actress looks extraordinarily gorgeous but rebellious at the same time. Her smile scares me to death hahaha. However, the theme color RED and the whole set-up of the movie are too perfect that I can't stop finding the movie to watch.

After watching the movie, I have to say that the movie didn't fail to disappoint me . Apart from the perfect set-up and decor of the movie, the background and the color with a uniquely Japanese style, the plot and the castings are also really good.
Anna Tsuchiya as the main female character - she acted really well as a rebel with outstanding beauty. Since she was sold to the brothel as a child, she was already rebel and naughty. That girl always want to sneak out of the brothel while the other kids accept the fate. I forgot to say that, this movie is not a simple movie about prostitute and brothel as pp will wrongly assume. The movie is about traditional 'prostitute' in Japan in ancient time. Not geisha . It's oiran - a prostitute in Japan. However, oiran is distinguished from yuuro because oiran is known for her/ their beauty and skills in art but to some extent not like Geisha :D. Oiran is known as entertainer- and many of them become celebrities.

PLOT: [Spoiler] The plot of movie is not really distinguishing or new because it is based on the the manga. However, I like the lines of Kyoha - the leading role in the movie. A girl who always wants to strive for a better life outside the brothel. Like many young girls, she wants a pure love with a male she loves; she wants to get out of the brothel on her own not by the money of the other man.
I can understand somehow why at the end she elopes with Seiji and leaves the samurai -who willingly buys her out of the brothel and gets her as his wife. Actually I think Kyoha is a strong girl; she doesn't want to get pity from other people especially the samurai man. She respects him because he shows the respect to her as well as her beauty. I personally think the samurai guy adores her beauty more than her soul and herself. However, Seiji - a person who seems to be cold towards her , always keep eyes on her since she was so young (ahahha, it's his duty anyway). More, Seiji shares the inside feelings- the pain and outrage, anger of lost love and hardship of Kyoha.
Kyoha loves Seiji also , this love is different than the love she has for Soujiro. For Soujiro, Kyoha has a innocent love - a teenager love kkk . Kyoha is too impressed by the handsome and gentle Soujiro. However, Kyoha is ; once again, a strong girl. She knows that Soujiro doesn't not deserve to her love when the incident happens. She sneaks out to see his smile - the smile she used to love . She leaves and cries . Cries for her love that is not deserved to a guy as pathetic like that. Since that lost love, Kyoha lives a life without soul. She accepts the life in the brothel. Till she realizes her love for Seiji- She knows when 'the sakura' blossom :)

About MUSIC: I like the music in this movie. The music is a mixture of traditional and modern music. I still can hear some English words during watching the movie :). If you forgets that the music and the time of movie not go along together , you will find that the music used is absolutely perfect with the movie.

Funny: Oguri Shun is a guy who sells flower - he appears in this movie just 1 -2 sec :)). I like Masanobu Ando as Seiji in this movie :)
